Want to Check Out The New Site Design?

Thanks for your comment. I completely understand that this will always be an ongoing problem. There is a group of us in the UK that endeavours to help combat the issue by giving advice on ways to spot fakes/scammers for those who don't know and also post comments on fake/scam profiles to warn people. However in my post here I am asking a specific question about the particular group of profiles detailed in my post which are identical in nature and come online at the same time every day at the same time. There are literally hundreds of them and are being posted and controlled by a single source on a very large scale. At a certain time of day if I do a who's online search circa 70% of profiles will belong to this group. I understand Ryan is going to make a post dedicated to the topic of fake/scam profiles shortly where it can be discussed, which is most welcome. I just thought I would post again here so others can read this is coming and we don't need to clog up other topics in the interim.

The problem is with the identical type of names, is that if you delete all of those under the assumption they are all fake, you will wipe out many members who accidentally used the same format in their name. The site isn't willing to do that. While it can be used to red flad them, until they actually violate the TOU, how would the site know that it is a fake profile or not? They need to take it one at a time and watch for patterns.

There are several regular members that typically respond on this blog as well as in Ryan's group. As a returning member, you already know this. Why are you asking it again? You know that posting a question here might get you a response by other members who keep up on what is going on around here and why does it matter who answers as long as you get an answer? Btw, that other members will respond to member questions and issues isn't going to change. If you only want Ryan to answer you, I suggest you use his email via his profile. As someone else replied, only site staff can delete comments, but if a member hides their profile, their comments will disappear until they unhide their profile. Nassy, You 100% correct. . But there is a huge tell tale pattern with this catergory which is that they come online at noon (UK time) every day and therefore must be controlled by a single source. It is a statistical impossibility that it is a coincidence. It is a very clearly defined and unwaveringly consistent pattern by a huge number of profiles. It is not just a UK issue~I get the same issue as you everyday.Currently the 'new members' I see are over 95% fakes. Ryan is working on a new post for his blog,to be posted this week. It is not just a UK issue~I get the same issue as you everyday.Currently the 'new members' I see are over 95% fakes. Ryan is working on a new post for his blog,to be posted this week. I have heard from friends from USA, Australia. New Zealand, Italy, Spain that they have the same problem. I refer only to the UK where I am sure of my facts as it is not my intention to just rant generally but to address the issue in a constructive way with specific points and evidence of patterns. I would suggest again to folks that we hang fire briefly and await the appropriate page to continue the discussion. I would ask people that when we do can we please keep it factual and polite, there is hell of a strength of feeling about this huge problem but we are more likely to achieve something with a sensible discussion rather than generalised ranting. Ryan has been good enough to throw the floor open and listen to us, lets respect him for that guys.

Breaches of TOC were ok by community on the advise line. You ask to be constructive. Nascar advised breaches of TOC should not be reported but put down to stupidity. In your redesign you have more to worry about than bling and color. That is fun. I was seeking attension  I don't think so i get more than my share of nutters now  Mabe as you don't see things they don't matter. How can they be fixed if there not reported? What is the point of events such as bling comps that always accure now?No i doubt nascar would receive 500 numbers in first emails a day. They would be reported to you? You're setting a bad example being all sane and what not. If you keep that up others may follow suit and then where will all the fun be? I think it's great you monitored the meeting yesterday, I saw you pop into the chatroom a few times. I was hoping you'd be able to stay. Did you have technical issues? The chat is tough to keep up with and pay attention at the same time. But it does get easier. Being, and responding, in the chatroom is also the best way to make sure your concerns are addressed. I applaud your following through. A lot of people post here with their rants and issues, some actually valid, and yet when they have the chance to actually confront Ryan directly, or post questions for the week in the Live From LesbianPersonals group, they pass up that opportunity. Then they wonder why they aren't taken seriously or are given answers. They then go on and rant about members who do try to answer questions. Thanks mate. I only had one technical problem when my chat crashed completely but mainly I was just getting the feel of it being it was my first time. I'm not used to that type of meeting, I don't even use chat, I spend half my life in meetings and adversarial negotiation and legal proceedings but it's all face to face or video conference or via mail. There are a group of us here who distribute information about fake/scam profiles to folks who are not 'in the know' and post comments on dodgy profiles warning people. There is a huge resentment strongly felt by a large number of guys here about fake/scam profiles and the issue is at blood boiling point. This has been exacerbated by Site Support (spit lol) who have deleted many valid questions, well constructed and without abuse. When they have replied they invariably fail to answer the specific point posed in the question and respond with a generic answer and PR speak "we are working very hard" "we share your frustration" etc etc They state the obvious but avoid the question which is an insult to people's intelligence (and I'm not including the nutters here). I have been asking people to put aside the experience of Site Support and start with a clean slate with Ryan who I have explained is not responsible for that department. I am further appealing to folks to put their points in a civilised manner now that we are to be given a dedicated forum to discuss the issues. Obviously I have no authority and control nothing and there will be those who rant with no focus of statement, this is understandable given the scale of the problem and the lack of effective action, people pay their money and are entitled to expect customer service. There are many misunderstandings, for example in England many people think that everybody from Aldershot is fake, but it is the first on the list of towns in the drop down box when you register, so in addition to lazy scammers using it so do many genuine people who do not want to give their precise location for anonimity reasons. However and again for example, we have incontravertible evidence to support the fact that there is an enormous group of fake profiles controlled by a single source which should be easily identified and eliminated. If this one group was deleted in the UK a huge percentage of the problem would be eliminated in one go and the corresponding percentage of ill feeling reduced among members. I do not think it is valid to say that the elimination of bulk amounts of profiles may inadvertantly include one or two genuine members, all they would need to do is email the site and get reinstated, it's not the end of the world. Genuine members already have the same problem, recently a member was deleted who is very well known and has 20,000 in their network, an email and the profile was reinstated, no big deal. These are only questions that A FF can answer, we as members can correct misnomers, but when there is a bulk of evidence behind a valid question which is well presented then I completely believe that we are entitled to be answered directly by someone from the site who has the authority to do something about it. I hope this issue will gain support among the existing group. The problem will always exist but it is a question of numbers, at the moment the scale is crazy and it is no longer sufficient for the site to acknowledge and sympathise, drastic action is needed. In my view this is the largest single problem we have here only possibly rivalled by the behaviour of far too many male members towards women.... God knows what can be done about that one but the fake/scam issue is solvable to large degree. I ask for your support to get behind the campaign to drastcally reduce fake profiles and push for substantive action by the site.

Seems like the overwhelming majority of people who comment here are in favour of keeping the option to have bling or colour as a profile background. With reguard to FAKE profiles, a good way of finding the genuine people on here is to see if they have decorated their profile background with bling or colour, as the fakes and scammers never do this. Save the bling!

Regards to the Beta design Simply put…. TOTALLY SUCKS in my honest opinion. Guess I will never understand why programmers and developers always have to try doing something impressive without the thought of simplicity. The Beta Navigational Bar is Not a User Friendly Interface Design as the current Navigational Bar is. Hell the Beta does not even have the Inbox notification as the current one does. Something that 90% of members will look at first when signing into the site will be if they have any unread emails. Then you have under “My Stuff” Upload Photo and Upload Video with a button of Upload on the right side of the Navigational Bar. That is redundant in my opinion. Not only that…there is nothing on the Upload page for the Voice Introductions. Next is the Instant Messenger button, a feature that has not worked properly for years with certain Web Browsers. The Web Browser Compatibility design of this site absolutely SUCKS BIG TIME. Some things work in IE and do not work with FireFox, Chrome, Safari, Opera and etc…. Example. Can view the Live Web Cams with IE….but not with FireFox. Moderators of Groups can ban a member with the link under a posting with FireFox, but not with IE. And the list goes on and on that shows nothing but the poor architectural programming and development of this site. What is so hard about making things simplified without all the clutter??? The Beta Navigational Bar is nothing but a drop down list of clutter that takes up 25% of the page when the mouse hovers over it. What is wrong with just having one simple hyperlink that opens a page with a corresponding navigational group instead of a drop down listing? For example everything that would be under “My Account” could all be displayed on and updated from one single page design instead of multiple pages. Makes me wonder if the Webmaster has ever heard of using hyperlink bookmarks to navigate a single webpage? All this site has done for past couple years is play with changing the visual design of it and navigation of it. What is this, 3rd or 4th time now and without solving the bugs that the members constantly complain of? Was a time I thought this site powers that may be would actually listen to us members. We members did not ask for a bunch of bells and whistles and different page formats and ways of navigating it. We asked for the BUGS in the System (Programming) be fixed. Instead what were given were little trinkets of new features to try diverting the members attention from the Bugs to only see them removed years later, and for some of us to have our intelligence insulted by being lied too or seeing the lies told to others when asking questions.

I don't visit your blog and you are welcome to stay away from mine and my personal group. However, Ryan has told me he welcomes my responding where I choose to in this blog as well as other trusted members. You have received many correct answers that you simply don't like. That's the problem. YOU don't like the answers because they don't suit you in particular, but this site doesn't run just for YOU. I am going to continue to visit this blog AND comment, so if you don't want to be around me... As for drama, you tend to create it and usually when you tear into other members. I and other members, many who also pay, will continue to respond here where we feel appropriate whether you like it or not. Again, if you want site staff ONLY to respond, either email the site directly, call the site directly, use the SiteSupport blog or email Ryan directly. As long as you take others to task for politely answering you, I will always have something to say about it. I have no need for attention. I get more than I want or need and positive attention. They do have certain other criteria, which they will not reveal, for good reason, that allows them to determine fakery.

Profiles like the ones listed in TruLee's post all seem to come online at the same time, 12 noon in the UK every single day. Its clear one source must be controlling all these profiles. Also as TruLee said, these profiles have stolen porn photos, some of the photos are even of well known celebrities, many of them can be found out with Tineye. Its clear to us paying members that the site is'nt doing all it can to prevent these FAKE and scam profiles. If paying members can easily spot the Fakes, then why is it so hard for the staff who review all these profiles and photos, to spot them? Many of these profiles also have geographical locations that don't make any sense, for example, profiles from Aldershot seems to be in every county in the UK, which is laughable, and another sign of bot generated profiles as Aldershot is the first location listed in the drop down menu. All the evidence speaks for itself.

I don't think banning Aldershot, like they did with Ghana would work? The bots would simply move onto the next geographical location in the drop down menu for the UK. As it is, any profile from Aldershot in the UK, automatically fires up a red flag in my book!

Given the numerical size of this one specific group it would reduce the fake problem in the UK by approximately 50% in one go if it were eliminated. This would obviously be a big step forward and go a long way to placating the huge number of irate members. I do not think it is valid not to take this action because it may inadvertantly result in a few genuine non-paying members being temporarily switched off ( personally I have not seen any genuine members here with such usernames in the UK but for the sake of debate let's assume that a handful do exist). All the genuine members would need to do would be to contact the site and get reinstated, it's not the end of the world. It happens to genuine members now for no apparent reason, it's a minor inconvenience but not the end of the world. To fight shy of making real progress because of the hypothetical possibility that a few people might suffer a minor irritation makes no sense. What about the inconvenience and annoyance caused to thousands of genuine members beacuse of the existence of this huge and specific group of fake profiles ? The benefits massively outweigh the small potential inconvenience to a few people which is easily rectified.

Well it seems that no matter how much this site changes its appearance…there will always be drama on it. In concern to the Fake profiles being mentioned. It’s impossible to deem all profiles that have random digits at the end of alphas as being fake account. Many real members use digits at the end of their profile handle that are between 1 to 5 digits. Most time the digit is a birth year (2 or 4 digits), area code (3 digits in U.S.) or zip code (5 digits U.S.). However, almost all the Fake profiles do use digits at the end that are in common. Avoiding the software generated BOTs and Fake profiles from creating an account on this site is close to impossible. However, this site here just really does not seem want to implement anything with making it more difficult for it to being done. 1-This site does not even try using CAPTCHA as a mean to slowing down the softwares that are used to generating BOTS\Fake profiles. 2- Creating a profile on this site is basically a 2 stage process to accessing the site. Stage One= Create username\handle, fill out brief self description, Submit. Stage Two= check registered email for generated password and sign in. That’s it…Profile\Account created. I tried to suggest forcing the site generated password be changed by account owner upon first signing in, along with forcing additional profile components to be updated. Once those 2 additional steps are done automatically log the account out and force the new password the account owner created to log back in and possibly use CAPTCHA in order to confuse automated software design generated profiles. But hey...that is way to complicated for the average human intelligence to doing in order having an account\profile on this site.  Those 2 reasons above in my opinion are the reasons for the high percentage of Fake profiles on this site. However, maybe there is a third reason that we members are unaware of; nor would ever be told of it. Various, Inc. offer affiliated programs where members can make money by having co-branded web sites of this one here or use a pay-per click programs that uses Various, Inc. advertisement banners placed on other sites where the owner of the other site displaying the banner gets a percentage of membership fees of those that clicked on the banner and then signs up as a Silver\Gold\VIP membership with Various, Inc. site. We all know Various, Inc. is only out to make money through sex. Well Various, Inc. is not the only one that offers Affiliated Programs; there are countless thousands of others. So what if Various, Inc. is capitalizing on other business websites affiliated programs or have partnerships\investments in some of them? Of course number 3 is only a hypothetical\theoretical….and OMG we all know Various would never deceive or lie to its members; even to making more money.

I agree with My Heart who I think makes some interesting and valid points and clearly has a sound technical understanding. I would just point out that I am not advocating accross the board deletion of profiles with a two number suffix, that would be ridiculous and would catch many genuine members in the net. If you look at the lists of profile names supplied previously by other people you will see the the alpha characters are not names or words, they make no sense at all. Real people choose their usernames and however tenuous there is some logic to them. In conjunction with other similarities and the time the profiles appear en masse they are VERY easy to spot. I assume that is not possible to execute deletion as an automated program but is very easily executed by a member of staff with a finger and a delete button who could go through them at very high speed and delete huge amounts very quickly. If the measures were adopted to the sign up proceedure that MyHeart suggests then the future flood of new ones would by stemmed.
