The Site Redesign

Just because your team was working on the redesign for the good part of the year doesn't give you a reason to push a product that the heavy users of the site don't like or agree with. None of the suggestions/fixes the Beta testers gave were incorporated and the redesign was released with the "Find a Hookup" wording, which we were promised would go away and changed to "Search". I've seen the email sent to members saying how 3 million newbies have been using the new site and the feedback was good. Was the feedback good because you didn't get any feedback? The newbies don't know any better, what functions there were before and how it's changed. It's not a matter of getting used to the new site. If the functionality that were there before were still there and made easier to navigate with a cleaner look, then it wouldn't be that big a problem. It doesn't have a cleaner look, the redesign is still unstable, nothing's been done to fix the issues with the blogs. The redesign is more of an inconvenience to the existing members than an enhancement. For the foreseeable future, I'll be logging in through Passion since I know where things are and the look is more acceptable.

As predicted, aesthetically hideous, bland, dull, boring, lifeless, individuality killed off along with visual stimulation. All sacrificed for the sake of corporate 'uniformity' so all the group's multitude of sites look the same. The only upside being less cluttered appearance which could easily have been achieved whilst retaining the aesthetics. It would be OK if it were the format for an accountancy program rather than a sex site... if so much of it wasn't so squashed up so it's hard to decipher. Functionality issues and navigation issues are so numerous I can't be arsed to list them all. Most of them are raised by people here and most were highlighted by the focus group months ago and are patently obvious.... so why on earth does it go live like this ??? Virtually everybody dislikes it, so a lot of effort has been expended on something nobody wants, resources which would have been better spent fixing the old format so things actually worked properly and tackling major issues like abuse and fake/scam profiles. What we've ended up with is the same shitload of old issues plus added new ones which now come in a grey format. Shrewd decisions by the powers that be at corporate huh ! PAH !!!

My search features don't work under the Beta, plus members near me, and my new matches. To use those features I have to log in the old LesbianPersonals.

 I will post issues as I look around on the new replacement design to the old design. 1. Problem with blog. The font size is terrible small and using bigger size, it still small. I tried make setting to zoom the text larger on my browser instead,and it don't do much good. The page goes so wide and expand and the size of the font don't get much bigger. I need to drag my browser wider to the right to see the whole wide of the page,and to be able to read from left to right. That also cause problem. Look at the screen shot of my own blog home. You see the posted topic is being over lap at right side.** Just hope the image appear. [image] 2. Would it be possible that the site please put the gifted bling on to the homepage where it was before on the top left? So members can know if they got gifted bling. It somewhat like if you receive email, hotlist, flirt and others stuff, you know you got something and need to check on. Without the link a lot would not know that they receive gifted bling and also it an easy link to the bling gift page. 3. On 'My Stuff' Page, under blog, it show the whole HTML coding I use for my blog header. I will come back and post when I come across some others issue.

I get that this is new and I (like most people aren't crazy about change. However, I'm not crazy about one of the changes to the front page. Are the pictures bigger and clearer or is this a function of the additional white space around them? The seem bigger and when I logged in I was staring at 4 erections and one guy with spreading his butt cheeks to give us a better shot of his bunghole. Ick. I had a strong preference for fewer smaller pictures on the main page.

Used to be stars giving you a rough idea of how close someone was to your wants. Thats gone. You hit next page and you have to scroll back to the top. I'm still trying to find everything it sucks. You're going to be losing a lot of people if you don't fix this crap

Actually Ryan the redesign isn't that bad. Sure there's a couple flaws, but they'll get fixed. It's kind of a shame there is not more constructive critism with ideas for solutions instead of just bashing. Maybe you should have blocked all complaints about the new design for a week, make people explore, maybe rediscover, the site, get their navigational bearings, and adjust to the change. Perhaps a seperate section, Blog World, where they could create whatever they want in their own world would better accomodate them. They could have a link on their profile to Blog World which would take the reader to a directory of the persons blogs.

it looks rather bland and boring...it would be nice if you guys designed where the emails are originating from...so i know it is an LesbianPersonals email which is the site i joined or from one of your pimp me out sites    je ne regrette rien

FIRE the designers! Anybody can have blank white everywhere...puts on my shades as i am blinded...no wait i need my magnifying glass to see the fonts. You are alienating all the talented bling makers. The blog guidelines are laughable. It looks like you went back in time and not forward. I could go on.......and on.....really sucks BIG time guys!

Totally agree with all these points and will not be continuing as a paying member on either of my two profiles when the time is up now. It's AWFUL here...... VERYSECRETLYME

You guys may have made a few positive adjustments. The operative word is MAY but you made the blog postings harder on the eyes took away the Look that so many had worked hard to develop eliminated the section Others who commented on my post and to think that this winter I was considering paying for some of the extra's...I think not, not now you have left a bad taste in the mouth of one segment of your customer base you think that the idiots who think showing a pic of their dick is going to get them to meet a Lady are making you monty? you think that the idiots who write "hey baby, I wanna meet so we can fuck" is making you money? ... ... ... you better reexamine your statistical data, someone is pulling your leg and it is not the middle one

1) Not very impressive to paying members, I'm glad gave up my membership to this change.. 2)Your community blog did meantion changes, To what new boring website, when didn't need new design intend fixed what's not broken. 3)Your corporation should be ashamed of themselves, there have been better design expert then what you have working for you. 4)Most likely customers will turn off their profile not having blings background. Looks like you went back to the old times style when internet and computer come out in the future. Grey is very bland boring for background even computer expert knows that... 5)you have to go find own group on another page not even from the main page. 6) when you are in chat room doesn't even show that u get mail while being in the chat room. Having to keep checking back. 7)The only changes you need do, was add in one main page section the other stuff where people can find it in one place. Not run all over the places to figure it out... All you do it make things more complicated and confused for everyone...  By add profiles before signing on with our reference location. are all fake... Thinking that will get membership to sign up. People are not stupid to notice the main ad... 9)By taking bling wall page codes and bling makers away that people have works hard to make... You gave us something to bring our bling profiles look interesting intend taking it away you're losing more member and memberships. 10)Does not look LesbianPersonals got any smarter only more dumb and stupidity... 11)Personally your website sucks! Makes other website look hell of alot better then your mu]lti websites design... Just telling the truth!

I understand that this is a complex site and that there are many different needs that vary among buyers, groups, posters and bloggers etc. But esthetically you really need some artists working on making this a more attractive to HUMANS site... it looks like you are selling kitchenware, objects not people (we ladies know all about that kinda stuff  ).... but there really are ways to use visuals for actions as well as just words... color blocks, vectors, shading, texture. Couldn't you, if you were going to all the time and energy to make some changes... at least make them attractive as well as functional? I've just seen the new face this morning, so as I work my way through my usual places, I'll get back to you as an item arises. I do like that you've put divisions between the posters on the A/L... makes it much easier to see what comment belongs to who... now if you could just put a 'quoted' comment in a shaded box, then you could tell the difference between the quote and the response to the quote.  Best of luck... I'm sure you're all going to have nasty headaches at the end of the day.  (Then again you might have posted some lengthy polls about what you customers might have liked to see) but hey... I think most of us realize that democracy is dead.  For a sex site did you realize than you don't have a single 'kiss' emote? A few more ironic emotes would be useful too... like a 'shrug' or an 'eye roll'.... maybe a 'head scratch'? Maybe you'd have to be a woman to grasp the irony of a sex site geared only toward men and their fantasy females? Want more real women onsite? Then learn to cater to us too!

I still have the same question when is LesbianPersonals really going to start listening to the members especially the paying ones? This design is really poor. The colors, or lack of them make this site look like a college student designed it as a project. With the lack of colors the page(s) are not that easy to read at times. With the old design you at least had color making things easier to read. The tool bar at the top was much easier to use than the new one. I'm interested in why every time LesbianPersonals does something to the site it never seems to come out better. Why didn't you take away the Alert bar at the bottom of the page? It is nothing but bothersome. When are you going to update the flirt settings so we can decide who can flirt with us? Example have a setting for only people who match your cupid settings can send you flirts, have the setting set to match your age settings for matches, and only members in the USA can send you flirts. This would greatly cut down on the bogus flirts we get. So again when is LesbianPersonals really going to start listening to members, and stop saying LesbianPersonals is listening? "3. Navigation feature I wish you would create, implement 3A. Give us a means to roam blogs by geography. I have always wanted to browse blogs in other English speaking areas in the web site. I've seen the site use continent references like in groups — I think Australia, Europe, North America, South America. Maybe a finer division to nation: Canada, US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore." 15575 This was a very good point... for me and I think many others who live overseas, the world is getting smaller everyday, for an example; I'm an American living in Italy and connect with many other English speaking people all over the world. The entire European community are mostly within a 2 hour flight of each other... so we do connect and interact... this site doesn't make it very easy to do that. So 15575  for bringing it up!

If you hate the new redesign you can log in via Passion, but I want to set the right expectation. The week after thanksgiving (week of the 28th) we will be updating Passion to the new design as well. You're getting voices hearing how they hate the redesign and specific feedback on the areas that need attention and addressing. Once the issues are resolved, then people can get used to working with the redesign. But that's only if the site actually listen to what the heavy users of the site and the Beta testers have to say and what they suggest and recommend for improvements. I'm not opposed to change. I'm opposed to launching a site that is full of flaws just for the sake of launching it and that none of the suggestions and/or recommendations have been incorporated, nor have the bugs the Beta testers pointed out been fixed.
