Bling, Signatures, Stickies and super Chat Live!
3/1/2007 1:38 pm |
The clock time has nothing to do with your posting... everyones time is in the future. It has been that way for weeks. I have written to you guys and been given empty promises. I do not like being ten hours in the future all the time. Can you fix that? Pleeeeese! And while you are at it, I lost all viewing privliges looking at bling. Now I can't steel any bling. This sucks. I gave away all my privilges to bling people. L'Oracle de L'Amour Hi again

luvpump, Happened upon your blog today from a friend who sent me the link and am quite glad I found your writings. I've checked out the "bling" and while i've not had the time to fully check it out or do any creations it looks like it could be a fun addition. I have a couple of questions for you though. I moderate the group New England Greeters that's been around a couple of years now. I understand the "sticky" option and think it's a great idea. My question is this though, with the update the threads no longer pop to the top of the list with a new posting, thus keeping the more active threads at the top of the list. With the update they are now appearing in chronological order by the thread's original posting date. Thus making it so older threads that are still active are no longer appearing at the top of the list. Is there any thoughts of changing this back so that they are listed by "most recent" reply posting date again, being below any that have been "sticky'd"? Also, I've been on A.F.F. for a time now before the smaller geographic chat regions were created. As I recall back then there were a few chat room "monitors" they'd warn people of breaking the COC and boot the "bots" out of the chat room. Not sure if this is something that A.F.F. would consider implementing again, but I'm sure that you'd be able to find some long standing members that frequent specific chat rooms that'd be willing to be monitors for the site. While this would take some doing on the sites part it would be totally doable, somewhat like the old "plus" system on a gaming site that used to have lobby chat areas for some of the games. They enlisted the assistance of certain members who met a set of guidelines and criteria to assist them in keeping the chat following the COC, a possible core group you might be able to ask assistance from are your active group moderators and associate moderators. I was a part of that program a number of years ago and while I won't go into specific details here if you'd (luvpump) would like information on how it worked please feel free to sending me an e-mail here on A.F.F. I'd agree with the other posters that the "bots" again are in high numbers, in the New England area chat room we typically have about 3 bots running at any given time, including the late night/early morning hours when there's usually only about 40 chatters. While "ignore" is an option to do so quickly fills up one's ignore list. While typing this I tried the "goggle"ing of handles like one of the posters mentioned. I have a silver membership so not sure that makes a difference, but I was able to click on the "google" link and be taken directly to a modified version of the profiles - ALL of the profile information was there though it was just a difference in appearance. Lastly, I agree with another of the posters here about changes being made without notification to the members. One prime example would be the recent "3 day" viewing of new profiles. Many of us who have "silver" memberships had that change made during a paid period of which when we'd paid that wasn't a part of the "silver" memberships restrictions. While I understand that updating of the COC and other offerings of the site are necessary. Why not send out a mass mailing like has been done recently for the site's contests? Another addition that'd be nice for "standard" members is while they see the "order form" page when they log in, have it show them if they have mail. I've seen quite a few new members on the site in the last few months that don't even realize they have the ability to receive mail here on the site if not a paid member. Thanks again for the blog Journey

I think the new chat is having an ill effect on chat. The system is completely down with the message: Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

Kewl idea. I tried typing in my own RGB values but that didn't seem to work. Should it have? Will it in the future? Thanks. SR

My apologies, I inadvertently posted this to the wrong blog thread it was meant to go into New stuff for Feb 28th release ~ Journey

This is cool! And something too long for one bling can always be split between multiple blings:

So how do we make signatures? The bling has broke my ability to mail or visit profiles. This now has put a crunch in my ablity to have what I came here in the first place... to contact paramours. I am as distraught as ever. The clock is off, the bling ate up my ablity to carrouse, and no where have you told us how to write signatures. What's a girl to do... guess go back to work on my own website. You guys... teasing us with stuff... and all you did was tease. L'Oracle de L'Amour Need to put a warning up for those of us without balls. Hi again

the Bling editor isn't working for me right now, the tools to modify/paint/etc aren't showing up on the page as they were yesterday for us. Second of all, the post listings in the groups have been messed up. While the sticky thread is nice, we'd like to have the topics show up again in chronological order of the last posts made by members. As well, there seem to be repeated issues with members in various groups being banned by some system glitch - not the moderators. Can this be fixed, as well as the glitches in not being able to ban a member who isn't part of the group at a particular moment? Thanks !

Ok nevermind.. I've been able to access the editor 2 times out of 4 now. It seems to depend on how I access the page ? Who knows...

Andrew, why did you delete my comment pertaining to Out Personals? I didn't know you censored what was supposed to be an open forum? Shame, shame on you! Surely you DO discriminate against the gays & now we know it for a fact! I am sooo disappointed in you & will discourage my friends from continuing to subscribe to your biased business.

guess what's on my mind!!! Can't wink... can't view profiles... sex sells! Hi again

are the "bling" getting smaller for silver members in order to provide larger bling options for gold members or is this my imagination?

I agree that Standard members have been recently impacted by the changes. Standard members can no longer see cams. That is going to hurt the whole site since they also participate in doing cams too. A lot of people are really upset about this.

This is exactly my problem also. Andrew, pleez fix or instruct a.s.a.p. big guy. I desperately need to 'STICK' an EXISTING TOPIC IMMEDIATLEY. Good stuf. My OKANAGAN group is enjoying the bling. So many are so impatient when it 'don't work right', without actually learning about them, and expect a glitch or so. Glitches are normal in everything. They must think you can walk on water or something to think what you do is anywhere near E-Z. p.s., lots of people do not believe you are a real person!!! Too bad for them. I think you Rock. Ken

Its interesting to see Ajax working with CGI, I thought that Ajax would be used for creating an flicker free HTML chatroom, as thats the only possible way. Evil

I know this is just repeating my post above, however, I want to express the need. Thanks Andrew Ken CLOSED

I agree with Northern, if my friends can't watch, why bother? why pay to be here. Another gripe. Right this minute the home page says 1139 live webcams, click the link and it goes down to 450. But there are only 17 women and 58 couples actually listed. the numbering is out of sequence. if you start up chat there seems to be a lot of cams listed there but hardly any of them will connect. this has been going on for days. I realize broadcasting webcams, Can we try and get this fixed? Thanks

Hey deeepocean2, i too am bothered by the live cam's not being right with the number listed. Furthermore, when I am camming it does not always show up on the public video screen. Only people who have hot-listed me see I am on-line, then they have to go to my profile page to see if I am on cam then, they click on view web cam. What fun is it giving a live cam show, when the people don't even know you are on cam. I like a big audience for my oral lovemaking talents upon the lucky male of the day

Delighted to find you. I just did a post about blings. I can't find a really ripe red like the one on the rainbow which you click on. The colours come out darker. Some of the icons I click on like the circle and the square don't seem to do anything. But overall it's great.

Hello Luvpump Delighted to find a techie (in old non politically corr-rect days known as a nerd). Also good to see a pic of a person with a face. It appears large numbers of people have died and left behind a pickled penis picture.
