My hubby's been doing shift for six years now,so I know about the dreaded daytime sleep.I use blackout drapes, and also run a fan on low it kinda muffles out any sound, and well because we have a neighbor that likes their music at concert level volume sometimes earplugs.

I like lusty/lucky's idea If you need any help with that.....you know where to find me LOL Also, you could put aluminum foil on the windows in the bedroom to keep the light out during the day while he sleeps.

Put tinfoil on the windows in your room. It will block out all light!! Or you can just play and get him tired!!

Not sure if u r still doing shift work but here r my suggestions for u: I work shifts days and nights mixed up depending on the weeks of the month but mostly do night shifts...it can be hard but its all what u put in ur head b4, during and after doing the shifts...i no for me if im doing a night shift i go to sleep just b4 going in then im not tired on the night shift as much...once out...i just do relaxing things for a bit say an hour or so...if i get home and i feel tired, i go to bed in my dark room...for the noise u have to block it out mentally so it becomes low key...but mostly i do mental relaxation with visualization such as seeing myself in a peaceful place with no noise, i relax all my muscles from head to toe during this visualization and i sometimes listen to relaxation music while trying to sleep if im to tense...just focusing on the soothing rhythm of the song to block out incoming thoughts...at 1st it may be hard to do if u r not into relaxation but u can pick it up quickly...during this time at 1st u get thoughts coming in by the dozen...u just find a way to block them...i do like the thoughts are coming on a blackboard and im am erasing those thoughts..or just totally ignore them...been doing this for years now and it really works...i have been known to do 4-5 shifts in a row, i mean day/night/day/night...so it does work.. best wishes on this matter...but the idea of playing is awesome!! lol
